Signs

All of the pictures on my site were taken by me. I’m completely fascinated with water, sunrises and sunsets, animals (especially close up shots, like a snake’s skin), doorways and paths. I want to share this picture because it reminds me of why I am here and what it took to get me here. About 14 years ago I was unsure about a big decision I had to make and was talking to my dad about it as I drove somewhere (my dad had passed away but I always suspected he could hear me so I talked to him sometimes). I finished by asking my dad to send me a sign if I should go ahead with this decision. A few minutes later I came around a curve in the highway and saw a beautiful sunset in front of me. My dad knew I love sunrises and sunsets, plus I think I got major goose bumps, so I took that as my sign. Over the years, I’ve continued to talk to my dad, and later on to God, about decisions I had to make. If I somehow end up that day where I see a great sunset, then I take it as my sign to go ahead with my decision. And you know what, it’s been right every time! That first sunset I thought my dad had somehow orchestrated, but now I know it was God pulling the strings. Still, I know my dad helped in some way! This picture I took from an airplane. It had been a stressful day at work and something big had happened. I did what I thought was right, but I was unsure if my managers saw it that way. I arrived at the airport wondering if I should have just kept my mouth shut at work. As the plane cleared the clouds, this beautiful sunset became visible. I remember getting teary eyed because I suddenly felt calmer and knew this was my sign that everything would be ok. Months later I was let go from that job, but by then I knew it was time for a change. I was able to explore and find something I’m passionate about… being a spiritual counselor! So when I see this picture it reminds me of how far I have come from that day and yes, everything is ok because I’m in the right place and happy about that!
